A '97 Astro van, a kitchen-table office, and ten neighbours on Jarvis Street. Here's how it grew.

    Chad picks up a brush.

    Five years painting for a big franchise, then a kitchen-table start. First job: a one-bed in the Esplanade. First ten clients: neighbours on Jarvis Street.

  2. 2009
    First building approval.

    Cleared by the property managers at the Cityplace towers. Crew of four, two trucks, one rule: drop-sheets before a can opens.

  3. 2012
    Yorkville's go-to painter.

    Three towers on the preferred-vendor list. Stopped advertising. Every new job comes from a referral or a review.

  4. 2014
    Switched to all-salaried.

    Last sub-contractor retired. Every painter on every job from this day forward carries a T4 from us.
